HONIARA, Solomon Islands ( SOLOMON STAR) ---- Printing of ballot papers started last week with those of the remote islands and provinces such as Temotu, Rennel Bellona and Choiseul. The ballot papers have been packed and dispatched except for Malaita, Guadalcanal and Tulagi. The two provinces are close and have transport accessiblity therefore are the last to be distributed. Polling stations in Honiara will be the last. Ballot papers for polling stations in the Honiara's three constituencies will be printed sometimes during the weekend and will be dispatched as early as next week. Voters throughout the country will go to the polls on Wednesday next week. Eighteen women will be contesting among for some of the 50 parliamentary seats. A total of 508 candidates are contesting this year's National General Election.
