SUVA, Fiji ---- Continental Airlines is organising a media familiarization tour to Fiji next week.

The media tour will include 11 Japanese reporters representing nine consumer media outlets from Tokyo, Sendai, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka with a total reach of 4 million consumers in Japan.

This media familiarization tour is a good example of Continental Airlines’ continued efforts to promote Fiji to the general public in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region and part of its commitment to the market since launching service on December 18, 2009.

The Fiji service provides access to and from the U.S.
Mainland, Japan, Guam, and Micronesia and operates with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 14 seats in business class and 141 seats in economy on the routes. Flights operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays to Honolulu and Wednesdays and Sundays to Guam from Fiji.

“Fiji is one of the most important destinations for Continental this year in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Matt Miller, Continental’s Managing Director, Asia-Pacific. “Our PR and marketing teams in Japan and Guam are working together to increase awareness Fiji’s beauty and our new scheduled service to Nadi. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tourism Fiji for their strong support and partnership in these joint promotions.”

In addition to the familiarization tour, Continental Airlines has recently worked with Tourism Fiji offices in Japan in sponsoring a nationwide TV show - “Tabi Salad” to promote Fiji to general flying public in Japan, which aired for 25 minutes up to four times in February on Saturday mornings. “Tabi Salad” is expected to reach more than 10 million consumers in Japan.
