Daltron, owned by the WR Carpenter (PNG) Group announced yesterday that Computech IT Solutions, which is based in Fiji and a leader in Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) solutions and customer software development, has been acquired.

Daltron already has offices in Port Moresby, Lae, Solomon Islands and Fiji as it intends to expand its services to Vanuatu this year and Samoa next year. Over the last 30 years it has developed into a diverse ICT company offering ICT products and services with emphasis in the last three years on delivering world class ICT solutions to its increasing client base.

Daltron general manager Bruce Mead said the intention of the acquisition was to expand Computech’s expertise to Daltron clients in the region.

“Our intention is to expand Computech’s proven expertise in the deployment of software services to Daltron clients throughout the South Pacific region,” he said.
“Effectively the Fiji-based Computech will become the software hub of Daltron’s ICT Solution offerings throughout all our locations in the South Pacific,” he added.”

Computech has a proven track record of 16 years in the private and government sector in the region and they are also the first Fiji company to successfully enter the large and emerging market for offshore programming delivering to industry leaders such as the United States-based Bumblebee Tuna.

“We have spent considerable time looking around for a strategic ICT company acquisition in Fiji and Computech is the perfect fit for us,” Mr Mead said.

“The Computech team is world class, and is strongly committed — bringing the latest in computer technology, financial management solutions and custom designed software applications to government and private sector customers in the South Pacific region

The combined resources of the Daltron group will provide a solid foundation as well as an experienced and creative source for IT solutions into the future,” he said.
