Brief news from the market (September 16 and October 15)

- Fosters Group Pacific Ltd recorded $4.9 million in Profit after Tax and Extraordinary Items for the 12 months ended June 30, 2005, compared to $10.7 million for the same period the last financial year.
- VB Holdings Ltd, the fleet and property management group, raised an additional $994,500 following a rights issue to existing shareholders. The fund was used to reduce debt and strengthen its balance sheet.
- Kontiki Growth Fund has increased its stakes in i-Pac Communications Ltd from 16 percent to 21 percent of its ordinary equity. i-Pac trades as Unwired Fiji and is the country's first independent Internet Service Provider, entering the market early this year.
- Fiji Television Ltd announced a $4.45 million net profit for its financial year ended June 30, 2005. A strong combination of programming helped increase the company's revenue.
- Yaqara Group Ltd released plans and pricing for its first residential and commercial subdivisions which will bring to market a total of around 250 individual residential lots, four prestige residential lots and 18 prime lots for commercial and retail development.
- FMF Limited is looking at a 1 to five share split which would be decided when shareholders meet at an extraordinary general meeting scheduled for November 18, 2005.
- Fijian Holdings Ltd recorded a net profit after tax of $4.7 million for its financial year ended June 30, 2005. This is a slight increase when compared to the $4.2 million it recorded for the same period last year.
